Go Wild…it’s animal print time

There is a lot to be said for wearing animal print – in addition to its staying power in the style stakes. It has recently dawned on me that it is also actually extremely practical for its stain-hiding powers – trying to spot a mark amongst all that pattern is no mean feat. So fear not those outstretched little hands or those little feet that seem to have the power to stand on yours (and your box fresh white trainers) every couple of seconds. Or indeed the bottle of ketchup which exploded all over my gorgeous bright yellow Zara dress – leaving me looking like a Happy Meal. Wouldn’t have been an issue had I been head to toe leopard.

Anyway, there is actually rather a lot of animal out there, so here are my favourite bits for this summer:

On the dress front there is this Leopard Print Ivy Dress £55 from Hush.

They also had the same print in a gorgeous maxi skirt which was sold out before it even came in but this Animal Print Midi Skirt £29.99 from Zara is a good alternative. Go jumper-less and wear with a plain tee or a little camisole.

Or for something pretty statement, try Topshop’s Animal Ruffle Midi Skirt £36 which is already sold out in sizes 12 – 18. Suffice it to say that the cropped top is not my styling choice and I would definitely cover up the middle.

Stradivarius (part of the Inditex behemoth if you haven’t heard of it) has this Long Wrap Dress £35.99.

And this Long V Neck Dress £35.99 which I have. Their sizing is a bit odd and they only do S, M, L.

And looking at the top half Hush has this Leopard V Tee £35.

Or I love this Cheetah Print Cross Back Cami £22 from Warehouse which would be great with shorts, jeans and skirts.

They have the same print in a Button Side Blouse £34 which would be good for the office or dressed down with denim. It is out of stock in 10 and 12 and low in other sizes.

For a little splash of leopard go for these Flat Leather Sandals with Leopard Print Strap £25.99 from Zara.

Or these Lena Leopard Sandals £29 from Accessorize.

Let’s not forget the rest of the animals in the print world as these Luna Two Part Espadrilles £75 from John Lewis AND/OR range are perfect for the summer with shorts, dresses and jeans.

They also have these Liana Cross Strap Sliders £69 in both leopard and zebra. Annoyingly if you have little feet then they won’t work as they only start at a 4.

And Office has these Solillas Sandals £57.99 which are perfect if you don’t really like all the flesh that is on show with a sandal, but still need something for holidays and the warmer weather.

I wear belts all the time, but the only one I tend to go for is my animal one and I often get asked where to go for belts. So this Classic Belt £45 from Boden is the perfect jeans belt.

Or Accessorize has this Leopard Print Jeans Belt for £10.

And last but not least, bags with this Katie Leather Leopard Saddle Bag £32 from Accessorize.

And unlike double denim, I’m definitely of the opinion that you can wear more than one animal at the same time – clearly pluming for the ‘more is more’ look…
