Gold Star

If you are feeling a little floral’d out and not sure if this is a print trend you like, then this one is for you. We’ve done spots this spring but now it’s the turn of stars. And to my mind the star is a nice way of updating a basic tee, adding some interest to a trainer, bringing a very subtle and easy to wear splash of print to an outfit and looking timeless in the process.

This season Hush has a very good starry offering. Starting off with tops:

There is this Linen Beaded Tee £59 which is a good style that you could easily dress up for a night out with a blazer, coated jeans and heels or wear with shorts/skirts or casual trousers as the weather gets warmer (or when you go on holiday seeing as there is currently snow on the ground).

Or they have this All Star Embroidered Top £85 which comes in black and a light blue. I love the sporty edging around the neckline which gives it a modern feel. This is another one you can wear out or even to work with a nice pair of tailored trousers. You can see me in both of these tops on my Instagram feed.

A similar concept here at Mint Velvet with their  Star Silk Front Tee £79  which comes in ink and khaki.

Moving away from embroidery and embellishment, I love the colour combo on Hush’s Leith Silk Tee £65.

For a longer sleeved style, I think this Long Sleeved Blouse £17.99 from H&M Conscious would be a very good buy.

Or invest in the Imo Star Blouse By Iris £170.

For something more casual, this Star Slub V Tee £35 is a good bet and comes in white with gold stars too. It is worn with another starry piece – Star Embroidered Skirt £110.

And for a casual shirt, this Ticking Stripe Star Shirt £38 from Oasis will work well with jeans and shorts alike.

If you need something warmer, then go for M&S Pure Cashmere Oversized Star Jumper £109 which will keep you snuggly but also looking like spring thanks to the lovely colours.

Or Whistles Star Intarsia Knit £139 is very lovely too.

In the same print colour as the top, Hush also has this Nancy Dress £75 which I should warn you is very short. I know this because I am and I have it. Now while she looks gorgeous and summery, I have been wearing mine with tights, boots, a Uniqlo Heatech layer/roll neck and a leather jacket. Underneath a coat!

For a more decent lengthened option try the Farah Midi Dress £75.

On the bottoms front, these Frayed Star Jeans £79 are lovely.

As are the shorts version £55.

Or what about some starry accessories like this Star Jacquard Scarf £49 from Whistles…

Or this Blocked Star Scarf £45 from Mint Velvet.

These Night Sky Trainers £139 from Hush are also a bit of a wardrobe must-have.

Or Next’s version are significantly cheaper at £35 and come in white with rose gold or silver stars on.

While these Talia Star Slip on Trainers £89 from Mint Velvet would freshen up your spring wardrobe nicely.

And these I have fallen for – Star Stud Sandals £25 from Accessorize.

Technically this is a beauty bag but would make a nice clutch too ( it’s 30cm x 20 cm) £29 from Hush.

Accessorize’s Star Stud Jeans Belt is a steal at £10.

And finally this Double Star Pendant £29 from Mint Velvet would finish off any outfit.

As would Hush’s Double star Pendant £30.

And here endeth this cosmic tour de force.
