Menswear Monthly: Get Shorty

This month’s menswear focus is a short one – pardon the pun – firmly looking ahead to warmer, sunnier days and summer holidays. Here are my top picks to suit all budgets.

Selshor Cotton Chino Shorts £69 Ted Baker

I’m a bit of a purist on the shorts front and don’t think you can go wrong with a good chino short. This one from Ted Baker is a firm favourite and comes in lots of colours so you can branch out beyond the classic navy/camel should you wish and go for a brighter blue or a pink shade.

Casual Chino Shorts £60 Reiss

These come in seven different colour options.

10″ Vintage Khaki Shorts £20.97 Gap

These are the ones to go for at Gap in either a 10 or 12″ depending on your size. They also come in 7″ but that is a fairly short short. They come in 9 different colours from your classic olive as here to white, pink, blue and more. This is the 12″ version which comes in the same colours.

Chino Shorts £17.99 H&M

There are eleven different colour options to choose from here.

Plain linen/cotton Bermuda Shorts £49.95 Massimo Dutti

If you want something a bit lighter weight then go for a linen mix. It will crease but that is part of the laid-back look. These also come in navy, white and a deep pink.

Seersucker Striped Shorts £75 Reiss

For a preppy look, go for a subtle stripe. These also come in a navy on navy.

Next month I’ll be looking at a few other pieces to set off your summer holidays in style.
