Style by Claire Lopez

Whether you’re feeling athletic or not, now is the time to embrace athleisure.

Well here we are again… Lockdown III. And with freezing weather and dark nights, this time, more than previous lockdowns, feels like we need to embrace comfort and cosiness in our clothing more than ever. Getting dressed, for me, needs to feel like a warm, enveloping cuddle.

So with this in mind, it only feels right that my first blog of 2021 should be fleecy lined and lycra waisted. Yep leggings, tracksuit bottoms and hoodies I’m talking about you…who knew athleisure would become the biggest fashion trend around?!

Leggings

I never thought I would say this but I think I am a leggings convert. Not just your average black jersey leggings I would hasten to add. They need to be fashion leggings so that means some sort of print/metallic/leather-look.

Commando Perfect Control Faux Leather Leggings £88 Luxury Legs

Here I am in mine.

Or try these as an alternative:

Spanx Faux Leather Leggings £89 Luxury Legs

Zero Gravity High Waisted Running Leggings £95 Sweaty Betty

The good thing about these Sweaty Betty styles is that they come in full length as well as 7/8 so if you are short, like me, go for the 7/8 length and it will be the perfect ankle length on you.

Atalanta Printed Leggings £59 Hush

These come in camo and animal print

Quick Dry Yoga Tights £45 &Other Stories

These come in several different colours and prints but I like these best as you would have the option to pair with several different top colours – pink/black/khaki/cream.

Joggers

I love the warmth of a pair of joggers but always feel a tad bag lady in my current offering so these are the styles I am going to be trying out.

Khaki Joggers £43.99 Lucy Dodwell

This is a great brand for joggers, sweats and tees and these joggers come in several other wearable neutrals. I like these for being slim through the leg which would certainly reduce the unflattering saggy bottom – my only real complaint about a trackie bum.

Lindsey Washed Joggers £49 Hush

If you hadn’t noticed, white and off-white athleisure is a thing. Just not sure it’s a thing in my house with a 16 month old… Lucky you if it is though.

Thea Slim Joggers £49 Hush

These come in four colours – light grey marl, dark grey, navy and khaki.

Hoodies

No I do not currently have enough in my life and yes I am going to be purchasing some more…

Sky blue Hoody with Gold Star £49.99 Lucy Dodwell

Just love this look.

Yes Charcoal Grey Hoodie £49.99 Lucy Dodwell

Ren Oversized Hoodie £69 Hush

Go longer line if you are pairing with leggings to cover the crotch!

If you can hang on until the start of Feb, then try their Hebe Cotton Hoodie £55 which comes in three colours and is a shorter style so is perfect with joggers.

Hooded Top £17.99 H&M

Whether you choose to do any actual working out in any of these items or not is entirely up to you. No judgement. It’s all about survival.
