Flat and Fugly but a little bit lovely
Flatforms – they aren’t exactly the prettiest of things but they’re super comfortable and give you a little bit of height in the process. No bad thing in my book (all 5 foot 2″ of it). The good old Birkenstock is back and looking bang on trend, along with a whole host of other ‘stocks. Whether you go espadrille, cork or rubber soled doesn’t matter, just take the extra inches and run! And with summer sales now on, you can even grab a bargain or two.
Arizona Footbed £80 Birkenstock
In copper and silver, the good thing about these is that they come in narrow and regular widths so should work for most feet. Oh and they are obviously designed with comfort in mind. Never quite thought I would hear myself saying it…but I like. Obviously these would bring the husband out in a cold sweat.
Lexi Stone Studded sandals £79 Mint Velvet
The studding on these makes them a far cry from dental nurse.
I had these on a blog a few weeks back but they deserve another mention here because they are so good! In gold or silver or snake if you take a 36. Also in black and white.
Also very much like these. Am a sucker for an animal print accessory.
Practically speaking I like having straps on a flatform – gives you a bit of extra security if you wobble over the side.
Lawson Chain Detail Flatform Sandal £45 down from £90 Dune
A bit of edge on these lovely black sandals which I like and at half price, yes please.
Makenna Sandal £129 Kurt Geiger
You can’t go wrong with tan – another versatile option which will work with everything. They do also come in black.
Clarks Botanics Sandals £69 John Lewis
Lots of options on the metallic strapped front.
Maya Flatform Wedges £35 down from £62 Office
These are fairly blingy, but they also come in tan, black and white.
Mara Eva Flatform Wedges £62 Office
A very similar style with just a slightly different strap.
They may be flat and a little bit fugly but they get my vote!
