Gingham Style
It’s been a while – but here is my first summer blog and this week it’s all about gingham. This easy to wear print is a spring and summer perennial as it re-appears every season, and has done for the past few years. In fact, one of this year’s it dresses was none other than a square necked gingham number from New Look.
If you like the monochrome look or want an alternative to all the florals and animal prints out there, then this is a lovely option that you can combine with a multitude of accessories – from classic black, to tan, metallic or even splashes of brights.
Here’s my top ten picks for you:
This also comes in a blue and is such an easy style to pair with white, black or blue denim jeans or shorts. You can even dress it up with black trousers.
Gingham doesn’t just have to be for summer – this is something you can wear year round and ticks that smart/casual box so you can do a lot with it, white denim as here to tailoring.
Just love this…
Gingham Check Tiered Skirt £175 ME+EM
This is a beauty that you can wear year round with tights, boots, leather jacket and then trainers/espadrilles/sandals and various tops for now.
Black Gingham Tiered Midi £14.99 New Look
Only available in some sizes and there is a similar one for £23.99
Lizon Mini Dress £45 Marie & Lola
This also comes in blue and white and is a nice, easy dress to throw on in the sunshine.
Gingham Puff Sleeve Midi Dress £27.99 New Look
I think this might be my favourite dress – I’ve tried on several and they’ve all been oversized and tent-like which doesn’t work for me so this will certainly not swamp.
If you missed out buying this one, then it’s yours to rent for two weeks!
Gingham Nina Midi Dress £45 Nobody’s Child
Another very wearable style from this sustainable brand which uses viscose from sustainable wood sources …
Gingham Tiered Midi Dress £47.20 Oasis
And finally if black and white isn’t your thing, then try this little blue and white number.
