Menswear Monthly: These Boots are made for Walking
It’s been a while since I did a Menswear special so I thought it was high time I was back on the case and I’m going to kick off 2020’s editions with a footwear focus. Given spring feels a long time away despite technically being here, it’s a good time to look at boots as there are several styles you need in your locker.
First up..
The Chelsea Boot
Burlington Chelsea Boot £195 Russell & Bromley
As well as black, these also come in brown, grey and navy suede and a black leather.
Although these come in both brown and grey, the grey is more or less sold out online but the brown still has stock in a number of sizes. A softer looking alternative to a leather Chelsea Boot, this is the perfect option for wearing with denim.
Character Chelsea Boot £115 Dune
These come in tan, brown and black leather as well as a grey suede. I like this dark brown the best.
The Lace Up Boot
Barbour Redhead Leather Chukka Boots £125 John Lewis
This is one pair of boots you could dress up or down.
A much more casual option, this also comes in tan.
Chigwell Tan Lace Up Chukka Boot £115 Dune
Tan Brock Chukka Boots £36 Office
At this price, these are obviously not leather.
The Desert Boot
This is the answer to your smart casual prayers as it neatly navigates that tricky middle ground that is smart casual. Your dress down Fridays need not be a nightmare any more.
Arni Suede Chukka Boots £225 Paul Smith at John Lewis
Probably my favourite of all the desert boots.
Classic Desert Boot £235 Russell & Bromley
Also in navy and black.
Jermyn Laced Desert Boot £195 Russell & Bromley
It’s worth investing in a wardrobe staple like these. They also come in a lighter chestnut colour, navy and black.
Hallaton Suede Chukka Boots £100 John Lewis
If you are after a lighter colour then these are a good option. They also come in navy.
Leather Lace Up Chukka Boots £69 M&S
These are good for under £100.
So what’s your boot of choice?
Jane
I love these menswear edits – I forward them onto my hubby in the hope he will make some good choices. Keep them coming Claire.
