Bottoms Up: Let the Party Season Begin!

There are A LOT  of sequins around in the shops at the moment which will either make you feel like a kid in a candy store or have you guffawing at the OTT nature of the shiny stuff. But given it is still the middle of November, I thought I would ease you into the party dressing theme with something a bit less in your face. And spoiler alert, next week’s blog will be about all the bling for those magpies out there.

So what are the less in your face options to wear for the festive season, if you are keen on more of a nod than a full on dive into Christmas dressing. Well starting with the bottom and moving up here are some party shoes. Sometimes all you need is a glitzy shoe and your whole outfit looks just right. Pop on with a pair of jeans and a jumper if it’s low key, add a blazer and a cami for a step up or with a dress/skirt depending on the dress code.

The Party Shoe

A flat shoe looks way cooler at a party than a vertiginous heel  – it says I’ve made the effort but not that much. The definition of laid back chic. It also has the added benefit of comfort.

Nella Jewelled Flats £120 Boden

If you find it hard to get flat shoes that stay on your feet then something with a strap is a good option. And what a pretty strap this is.

Kurt Geiger London Princely Flat £111.20

Kurt Geiger is also joining in the festive discounting and these embellished mules come in black, patent, leopard, camel and snake.

The Party Skirt

Without hitting the sequin trail, there are loads of skirts around that you can dress up or down. Wear with a chunky night and flat boots or trainers by day and dial up your look with a slinkier top and a heel for the night.
