Spring Knits

I’m a total convert I admit it…yes cardigans I’m talking about you. And no, there’s nothing remotely Granny about this season’s cardigans. They have officially been re-branded so now think sexy, slightly falling off the shoulder with a low v neck, rather than prim and buttoned up. There are several good things about cardigans from a shape point of view – the v neck creates a slimming and elongating silhouette which draws the eyeline vertically rather than horizontally and is ideal for slimming down broad shoulders. When worn open, they also help to draw the eyeline inwards and can help to disguise problem areas such as tummies. They are an ideal extra layer of warmth for these transitional days and come the summer sun can be worn open over camisoles and t-shirts. You can also try wearing these back to front…(head to my Instagram Stories highlight on cardigans to see a quick video on how to do this). Here are a few different outfit ideas for you if you’re still not convinced if you need one in your life… And now for my favourite ones out there at the moment…   Fluffy Knits  Victoire Cardi £49 Marie & Lola Adding a frilly collar to this cardigan makes it just about irresistable.   Katy Cardigan £80 White Coco I have this in the white which you can see above but it also comes in a toffee and navy. It’s a bit of fluffy heaven and the diamante buttons are gorgeous. I have been wearing this with everything from lighter denim to spring skirts.   Riva Ribbed Cardigan £89 Hush This is another snuggly style which comes in an easy to wear grey marl as here, an oatmeal, this season’s sage green and black. Some of the colours are already sold out in sizes so hurry if you want one of these. Love this with the joggers.   Pointelle Details Aveline Knit £35 Watson & White This also comes in a pale blue and rose.   Maelys Knit £57 Marie & Lola This is just beautiful in the cornflower but also comes in sage and bright orange and yellow.   Georgie £68 White Coco This sage green is a big colour this spring but it also comes in a versatile cream, black, navy, cornflower and blush so you have every base covered!   Lighter Weight Knits  V Neck Boxy Cardigan £79 Mint Velvet  Purple tones have also been big for several seasons and this is continuing into the spring. This cotton cardigan also comes in white.   Buttoned Cardigan £69 Mint Velvet I love the little detail of the metallic trim on the cuffs of this which is in a beige and a sage.   Philippe Jumper £90 Sezane This cotton cardigan is very pretty indeed.   Camel Cardigan with Multi Coloured Buttons £40 Bricks & Stitches I love the clean style which looks like a little jacket.   Button Free You can also try wearing these wrapped at the front or fastened with a little brooch. Hugo Cardi £49 Marie & Lola This comes in lots of other colours.   Mohair Mix Cardigan £78 TAE Boutique Stripes and lurex are a marriage made in heaven.   Ombre Pastel Cardi £35 Mimi’s Edit If you haven’t noticed rainbow pastel knits are a thing. And a pretty lovely one at that! This is spring in a knit.   So which one are you going for?
