Spring Shackets

The stars have aligned – both big kids have decided that working in their bedrooms is the way forward and the baby has also decided it is her nap time which means a few minutes to speed type this blog before I hear ….’Muuuuuuummmmmmy!’ from the top of the stairs and the baby wakes up.

Fashion loves a hybrid and this week it’s shackets – that shirt/jacket combo – which is in the spotlight. I’ve been wearing an old Topshop one more or less on repeat now since the weather has warmed up and it’s the perfect lightweight layer. So here are some other options for you if you are struggling with what to wear on top to keep the goose-bumps at bay.

Cotton Camo Shacket £269 ME+EM

If your wardrobe consists predominantly of plain pieces, then this fairly subtle camo print is a good way of livening things up a bit.

Military Jacket £75 Hush

This comes in a washed black, khaki and animal print, which is probably my favourite.

Tie Dyed Utility Jacket £120 Anthropologie

Another pattern which is pretty subtle.

Oralie Shacket £159 Baukjen

Khaki is a practical colour and goes with everything.

Kayak Embroidered Cotton Jacket £370 Zadig and Voltaire

The details are what makes the Zadig jackets.

Mili Embroidered Cotton Blend Jacket £355 Zadig and Voltaire

Louane Jacket 37 Euros Not Madame

At the other end of the price spectrum and an absolute steal, this jacket from another French retailer Not Madame, is great if you are after a lighter coloured option.

Khaki Jacket £39 Topshop

This comes in Petite as well if you don’t want such a longline option but has sold out in some sizes.

White Stuff Layla Linen Utility Jacket £52.50 John Lewis

Mia Bomber Jacket £60 Marie and Lola

If the military style isn’t quite working for you, then try a bomber instead. Great with trousers and also over dresses and skirts, this one from another French brand comes in khaki, black, camel and cream. I love the lurex trim at the cuffs and neckline to add a little bit of glamour which makes this another versatile option you can wear into the evening.
