The sun is here (for the time being at least) and it’s nearly the school holidays, so it must be time to have another look at summer dresses. This week, it’s a short one but a good one with my top picks of the maxi and midi styles:
This is perfect for summer evenings on holidays or you can easily dress this up with heeled sandals. I love the mix of the animal with the stripe and you can always swap in a black belt if you want to create a bit more waist definition.
They sold out of this dress earlier in the season but have brought it back as it’s such a great style. Perfect for now but you can just as easily pair this with tights, boots and a leather jacket. And it has an added bonus of being sleeved.
The elasticated waist and slight blouson makes this a very flattering style indeed and in an easy to wear print that nods to animal without being full on. It also comes in short, regular and long lengths to suit all.
Graphic Leopard Print Dress £169 Whistles (At Selfridges)
This is a gorgeous colourway for an animal print but it’s sold out online at Whistles. Selfridges has stock up to size 12 available. It also comes in a fab top and skirt style if you can’t get your hands on the dress.
If you have had enough of animal print, then floral is the other major trend. This is very lovely and something you can dress down with trainers and a denim jacket or pop on some espadrilles if you’re off out.
This is another very pretty print that you can do a lot with.
There’s something chic about black in the summer and this is the perfect antidote to all the print and pattern that is around. This blank canvas is super simple but super easy to dress up or down depending on your accessories and footwear. Love the styling here for the day – straw bag, sandals and some easy jewellery.
And that is what I shall be channelling in Croatia this weekend…well in my mind at least. In reality I will be a red, sweaty mess with swollen feet and ankles but hey ho!
