The knitted dress is the perfect option for a winter at home – it’s got all the warmth and snuggle-ability of a sweater but it’s a whole outfit in one. Plus it gives you another comfortable and stylish alternative to the constant lure of leggings or tracksuit bottoms. Not much not to like methinks and as several clients have been requesting these in their online shops, I thought I would share the love. So here are my top picks for you to snuggle up in while working from home.
Already out of stock in sizes 6, 14 and 16, this is a hug in a dress. Wear with flat chunky boots now or like this with a heeled boot when you can actually go out again.
This is a very flattering style as you can blouson over the waist so it won’t cling to the tummy area.
It’s lovely to keep it light in the winter too so you can choose from the light grey or oatmeal dress at Mango.
Ditch the heeled sandals for boots/trainers if you’re going out and about or, let’s face it, tights/socks are going to be all you need for the next few weeks. And maybe some slippers too.
The tie at the front is a great way to disguise the stomach area.
If you are after something a bit more form fitting, then this is a nice style and I never thought I would hear myself saying this, but I love the warm brown shade too!
This is a knee length style which strikes a nice balance between not being too fitted that you need to reach for the special underwear when you wear it, but also not too shapeless and oversized that you are swamped and look shapeless.
This finishes above the knee and if we are going to be at home for the party season, then you might as well get a bit of sparkle into your homewear.
This also comes in a winter white and an oatmeal colour. I love the styling here with the chunky boots.
If you want something more sporty, then try this one which is nice in the light grey marl but also comes in a variety of more traditionally Boden patterns such as spots.
Now just relax, light a fire and snuggle up on the sofa with a glass of wine…chance would be a fine thing!
And next week will be a huge sweater bonanza to look at lots of lovely knits you can cosy up in while we’re all at home.
