Sandal Season

Who needs shoes when you’ve got nowhere to go…

Well strictly speaking you don’t, except it is sandal season and there are lots of lovely options out there from metallics and animal prints to brights and more. Here are my top ten picks for the sunny garden and park days ahead.

Lumi Sandal £17 Dune

Gold and animal print – perfection! I had a similar style from Accessorize a couple of summers’ ago and I loved them as they were just the right amount of detailing to work with all my plain outfits. These also come in a black and snake combo.

Mint Velvet Poppy Animal Print Leather Sliders £79 John Lewis

A subtle animal if you don’t want anything too obvious.

Mint Velvet Lara Zebra print Suede Sandals £59 John Lewis

Gia Snake Strappy Sandals £59 Mint Velvet

I love these snakey numbers.

Kirbky Sandals £55 Hush

A simple metallic sandal will work with everything you own.

Scalloped Strap Sliders £19.25 Accessorize

Or keep it clean and minimal with a crisp white.

Estella Slingback Sandal £75 Boden

Or how about a pop of colour? These come in orange, yellow and a navy.

Katrina Raffia Sandal £70 Boden

I love the texture of these and as well as the orange they come in a neutral and navy.

Rocky Slider £45 Aldo

It’s nice to have a bit of something interesting on your feet if your wardrobe is mostly plain.

Woodstock Sandals £69 Hush

Birkenstock-type sandals are also everywhere and these although not technically flat – they are a flatform – are good if you want a bit of extra height. These come in gold, silver, snake and black and white.

Even if far flung destinations are off the agenda and it’s all about the stay-cation, then a nice pair of sandals is still a ‘must’.

Claire, can you tell me where the bardot top is from in your first photo?
